The Barnard House Grand Opening
After months of renovations the historic Barnard House will stand proud along the Allegheny River as commerce, regional organizations, community leaders, local and state government officials gather on June 19th to celebrate the homes Grand Opening. This date hallmarks the first days of summer as well as the Kentzel families labors to create a unique concept in lodging by showcasing local foods, services, and suppliers and focusing on the region with all of the wonderful amenities it has to offer within a home filled with nostalgia and history.
The Barnard House strives to bring awareness by utilizing the local foods, products and services to stimulate the economy and market these items to make a stay at the Barnard House an experience to remember. The invited guest attending the Grand Opening will sample and view items such as chocolate, teas, syrup, cheese, meats, bake goods, and toiletries which are just a few of the offerings from the communities of Emlenton, Foxburg, Franklin, Clarion, Kennerdell, Nickleville and New Castle. These items will be part of a paying customers visit. When a guest makes a reservation at The Barnard House from the moment they walk through the door they are surrounded by comforts and begin to create a memory unique to the home.
The red ribbon cutting will take place on the porch over looking the Allegheny River in the same location that the Barnard family spent their afternoons. This celebration provides a time to reflect on the many persons contributions which made the bed and breakfast successful.
Later in the summer the Kentzel's plan to invite the community and general public to attend an "Open House." Emlenton has known the Barnard Family and this historic home since 1893. Now everyone will have the ability to experience this Victorian Lady along the Allegheny in her finest.
