Summer is alive in many way's.
It's not hard to find the magic of summer. On a daily basis there are amazing vistas around every bend in the trails, river and road ways. We pause daily and rest our weary souls by stopping to take in lifes simple pleasures. When we pause - pleasures can be found by very sense. The unique scent of river that can only be found here in the valley. We paddled downstream to Emlenton in our kayaks in wonder even after 30 years along this river it provides new wonder's. Eagles, Osprey's and King Fischer's inform us of our invasion.
We travel the rural roads weekly and play a game of sorts called, " Let's Get Lost" . The winding roads mingle with meadows spreading acrosss the farmlands newly planted with this year's bounties. History greets us at every corner with grand names marking dirt roads that once were main routes to mills, furnances, farms and towns that have unique stories of days gone by. Folks dot the porches with smiles and waves reminding us that country manner's are alway's found in the friendly local's.
Occasionaly our legs carry us down trails along creeks and hillsides opening to gordges and valleys. Our son, Briar alway's seems to find treasures we as busy adults may miss. Fossils, bugs and views that only a young boy's wonder will discover.
Yes- summer has brought us many pleasures. We thank our parent's often for bringing us here as children and provideing us the ability to share these same wonder's with our children and other's. Not a day goes by that we're not grateful for having the ability to call this place- HOME!
